We undertake many different types of stained glass and leaded light work for many trades and properties. We mainly work on private homes, but a large proportion of our work is for glazing companies. builders, churches, public houses and furniture restorers.

Stained glass has always been a character feature in older properties and with the demand for double glazing growing, too much stained glass is being lost forever. We are aware that leaded lights can be draughty, but this is mainly due to the age of the window. Unlike sealed units in double glazing, leaded lights will last for over 100 years before they need any real restoration work. Sealed units will often mist up long before their 10 year guarantee. To preserve your traditional stained glass we recommend secondary glazing. Secondary glazing will give you all the benefits of double glazing, but more importantly you get to keep the character of the property. Most leaded lights that need attention are mainly door panels and opening windows, these take a lot of abuse before they eventually need attention. A simple solution is to have the window remade using all the original glass and re-cemented (waterproofed), This will give the window another lease of life.
