This design was commissioned to us by Alan Rogers of St. Albans, Herts.

We specialise in the making and restoration of traditional stained glass and leaded lights.

Stained Glass Review

I've always been mildly obsessed with Datura flowers. I grew them, drew them and photographed them. The elegant flowing lines of the Datura seemed ideal for stained glass, so I designed two panels for my front door. I wanted something unique, bright and timeless, which would also look at home on my traditional Victorian house.

I commissioned John to build and fit it for me. He was very enthusiastic about the design from the start and offered helpful, practical advice. He went to great lengths to find glass of the particular colours I'd specified, and always kept me involved throughout the process.

The end results were even better than I'd imagined. It's ever changing appearance in different light conditions means that it continues to surprise us every day.
